Trade-In
Out with the old. Hassle-free.
Trade in your existing furniture when you upgrade with us. We give you a discount, take the old pieces away on the same delivery, and give them a second life with someone who needs them.
New furniture’s the easy bit. It’s the old stuff that’s a pain.
Selling on Marketplace takes weeks. Not everyone’s tech-savvy. And nobody wants to be without a sofa or a bed for a fortnight while they wait for the right buyer. So most people just live with the clutter — or pay to dump it.
Three steps. One delivery day.
It’s straightforward. We sort it on your delivery — no second trips, no separate pickups.
Send us a photo
Just snap a photo of what you’d like to trade in and show us — no need to bring it in for inspection. We trust you that it’s in good condition. We’ll let you know what we can offer against your new purchase.
Take the discount
The trade-in value comes off your new purchase. The price you see is the price you pay, less the trade-in.
We swap on delivery
On the day your new furniture arrives, we take the old pieces with us. One trip. No fuss. Done.
Three wins, not just one.
This isn’t just a customer perk — it’s a piece of how we think about furniture.
You win
Discount on your new purchase, no Marketplace stress, old stuff gone the same day. Less to think about.
It gets a second life
Your old furniture isn’t going to landfill. It gets cleaned up, on-sold cheaply, gifted, or donated to people in our community who need it.
Someone else benefits
Not everyone can afford new. Quality second-hand furniture at a fair price — or donated to a family who needs it — makes a real difference locally.
How it actually works.
This is a service most furniture stores don’t offer. So we’ll be straight up about how we make it sustainable.
It’s trade-in, not cash
We don’t buy furniture for cash. The trade-in value comes off your new purchase as a discount. Once your old item is ours, we decide what happens with it next — whether that’s reselling, gifting or donating.
The value we offer is roughly half of what the item’s worth
That’s because we can only re-sell it for what it’s worth, and we have real costs to recover — collection, transport, cleaning, storage and disposal of items that can’t be re-homed. This isn’t a lowball — it’s the maths of running this service.
Trade-in value depends on what you’re buying
The trade-in is a discount applied to a new purchase, so the value we can offer is tied to the value of what you’re buying. If your new item is already on sale or heavily discounted, the trade-in we can offer will be lower — we can’t stack a trade-in on top of an already-reduced price, and we don’t combine trade-ins with package deals or promo discounts.
We also can’t trade an item of significant value (like a sofa) against something much smaller (like a coffee table) and pay you the difference. The new purchase needs to be the bigger half of the deal.
Items must be ready at delivery
Trade-ins are agreed at the time of sale, with the expectation that the agreed items will be ready for swap on delivery day. Please make sure they’re there — we plan our trips around the round-trip swap.
We don’t sell on behalf or buy back later
This is a one-way trade-in. We don’t act as a consignment seller, and we don’t do cash buy-backs. Once the trade is done, it’s done.
It’s a service, not a sales tactic
Most furniture stores don’t offer this. We’re a service-based store — happy to take on the headache of disposal, re-homing and donation because we think it’s the right way to do business. It’s part of what sets us apart.
Bring it up when you visit.
Pop into the showroom and let us know what you’d like to trade in — we’ll have a look and give you a value while you’re there. Or get in touch with photos and we’ll come back to you.
